As we head toward winter, there are some things you can do to ensure that your roof is ready to take on Colorado weather without collapsing.
Roofs are every building’s first line of defense, whether you’re talking about a house or a business. At Planet Roofing, we have dedicated ourselves to providing roofing services that can’t be matched, and fall is one of our busiest times. Roofs need to be prepared for winter!
In the next few blogs, we’re going to discuss some things for you to keep in mind as we head into our cold season.
Check out your gutters
- Fall leaves can gather in your gutters and prevent water from draining right. Once snow falls and our Colorado sun melts it, the water will build up in the gutter, refreeze around the eaves, and damage your roof. And that’s only if your gutters are in good shape. Make sure your gutters are not only clear, but fully functional on their own.
Check out your trees
- Trees that cause no issues in warm weather can become huge hazards when snow and ice show up. They don’t just threaten your car and home, they make being on your property dangerous. Take a minute to inspect your trees and look for the following signs that they need to be trimmed: Mushrooms on the bark
- Dead or hollow trees
- Tree limbs extending over the roof
- V-shaped forks that tend to split apart under the weight of snow
At Planet Roofing, we take great pride in our workmanship. We understand that Denver businesses and homes depend on their roofs, and we consider it a privilege to keep those roofs in top condition. We are on a mission to bring you peace of mind year-round. Let us keep your residential or commercial roof going strong!
