We love roofs. No matter what they’re made of, we think they’re great. They protect your building from the Colorado weather, which is harsh whether hot or cold. They allow all of us to pursue our goals and live our lives in comfort. They are made to last for decades, and if they are cared for correctly, they can last even longer. In our last blog, we shared questions for prospective roofers. We have a few more!

  1. Are you going to remove my old roof?
    • Answer you want to hear: YES
    • You may hear that getting your old roof inspected for troubles and then having the new roof installed over it will save time and money. The problem is, you will never know if there are issues with the old roof unless the shingles are pulled up. A new roof over a damaged old roof cause more complex issues in the future.
  2. Are you licensed?
    • Answer you want to hear: YES
    • Each state has different requirements for being licensed as a roofer. Go ahead and take an evening to research the code requirements for your area. It is also a good idea to make sure the roofer’s license is up to date. You may feel pushy asking, but it’s your money on the line if they aren’t licensed. Go ahead and check.
